Virginians got a helpful new tool in July 2025: the state's Medigap birthday rule lets existing Medigap policyholders switch to the same plan from any carrier around their birthday each year with no health questions - a money-saving window Priscilla now watches for every Virginia client.

Both states run excellent free counseling programs, and Priscilla encourages clients to know them: North Carolina's SHIIP (Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program, 855-408-1212, run by the NC Department of Insurance) and Virginia's VICAP (Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program, 800-552-3402).
